NedBot will be shutting down effective 17th December, 2022.

Why?

We find it important to be innovative. It is what drives users to use a service. Over time, we found we lost motivation due to a few reasons:

  • A shift in Discord's feature set.
  • Less need for moderation bots as native tooling is implemented.
What will happen?

All of your data will be deleted on the 17th of December, 2022. NedBot will leave all servers before being shutdown, and will no longer be invitable.

If you wish to be able to collect all of your data, run the dump command. NedBot will send you a dump of all of the information that we have on your Discord server so that you can move to another bot if you rely on NedBot.

What's next?

We are moving onto a much larger project outside of Discord. We feel this is the right choice as it provides us with the freedom to build what we truly believe is high-quality software that can have an impact.

This will include an entire rebrand, integrations with platforms outside of Discord, and shifting focus away from relying on Discord.

Final words

Thank you to all of those who have supported NedBot. Whilst this is not the desired result from this project, this is not the end of our goal to improve people's experiences via software. Our next aim is much larger, and will take more time, but we hope that it will provide users around the world with the experience they deserve.
